RGP’s June Wrap-Up
Oh baby it’s here !!! Been a hectic month. Lots to review. But many, many positives — we cleaned every single day. Surreal to be back here, only a month after I’d given up on cleaning every day. Let’s discuss.
Month started hot: with a Tropical Storm. Most men would be put off from cleaning immediately — but not I.
Showed up that day to do business, rain or shine. Set the tone for the month. Nothing like some good rain & the fake tree in Rosemary Square.
Was able to free up a little more time for RGP this month, and capitalized by checking out spots like Winding Waters preserve. Great trails, outstanding wildlife, a little trash to clean, good vibes all around.
In addition to cleaning trash, getting out in the sun and enjoying nature is RGP’s purpose. So we wasted no time in doing so. Hoping to keep it up.
Possibly the most creative clean of the month was on Palm Beach Island. Biked around, picked up trash where we could find it, tossed it at the end of the ride. Not a huge amount of trash per capita but garbage is everywhere nowadays.
Without true guardians of Earth like us, we might all swim in trash.
Be thankful.
Next up we have a trip to Jupiter Lighthouse. Rescued some trash from the shoreline, but also got these great views. This might win view of the month, or maybe even view of the quarter. Jupiter inlet headed into the Atlantic.
If you’re in the area, check this place out. Over 100 years old. Elite scenery.
Best walk of the month was out on the Apoxee Trail. Probably walked 8 miles or so in total. Saw a snake, some wild hogs, plenty of birds and plenty of habitat. Heard a frog or two in there as well.
If I had to pick 1 great wildlife spot from our time in Florida, this is it.
John MacArthur park is another elite spot from the month, highlighted by this picture with the little grasshopper on the beach flower. Easily the most natural beach down here thus far. Trash to clean as well.
Great to get a little taste of what the area was like before human development.
Lots of bugs, but interesting plants and some of the more pristine nature we’ve seen to this point down here. Chance to see fish as well, in the inlet especially.
Rounding out the recap may be the toughest clean of the month. A clean we truly had no business going on. But by staying prepared with the bag, and seizing the opportunity with Nick, we were able to convert on 4th down on a day when lesser teams would’ve punted.
Each month, there’s always a few chances to miss a clean and call it a day. This was one such chance. Greater men rise to the top.
Additionally, shoutout to Nick for his second feature on a monthly recap.
The review is done. Let’s discuss the highs and lows of the month.
Highs
- The aforementioned Powerful clean with Nick. That was the final battle as far as cleaning every day was concerned
- Long walk on the Apoxee trail. Good vibes
- The Tropical Storm — my first as a Floridian. I love storms. That was fun
- Organizing a cleanup with Grandview Market on 7/23. That’s going to be exciting. Get your bags ready and get ready to make an impact
- Cleaning every single day. Can’t remember the last time we actually did that. Making a huge difference is about consistency. Let’s Go !!!!!
Lows
- The forest trail at John D. MacArthur State Park. There were so many bugs in there it was impossible to proceed. It was an unmitigated disaster.
- The fact that I barely had any group cleans this month. Besides one 2 bagger towards the end of the month, nothing major on that front
- Really not much else. This was a great month for the brand. Let’s keep the momentum going into July. Thanks to all of you.
That’s it for the RGP June Wrapup. 31 bags cleaned this month. We could beat that number in a day on 7/23.
Three major goals for next month are clean more bags, have a successful clean on 7/23, and travel to some more new spots. None of it’s possible without the followers on IG, the subscribers on patreon, or the readers on here. I appreciate you all, and look forward to delivering you the finest in-class trash cleaning content in the game next month.
