RGP’s Greatest Finds
Something we’ve been long hoping to discuss — RGP’s greatest finds!! Over the year and a half we’ve been doing this, there have been some crazy items of trash we’ve uncovered. One man’s trash truly is another man’s treasure. In this post, we discuss them.
Couldn’t find a picture of this find, but this is one of the first truly great finds I’ve had with RGP. A pair of Ray Bans, in case, washed up along the shoreline. Pretty unbelievable to find something in such good shape literally washed up along the shoreline. They are a little crooked though.
This one speaks for itself. A Coca-Cola can commemorating the 1994 NYR Stanley Cup championship, cleaned in either late 2020 or early 2021. What the hell is this thing doing out here? An unquestionably cool find, frozen into the swamp at Nature Study Woods in New Rochelle.
Was not able to clean this one up for logistical reasons but one of the wildest things I’ve come across out there, besides the other cool boat. Smashed windshield as you can tell. May have been casualties, which is very much not cool. But one of the wildest things I’ve come across without question in my travels. Shoutout to the Tostitos bag bottom right, which does not compete for a spot among RGP’s coolest finds. Having said that, I definitely did clean that one up after taking the picture.
This one was not so much a trash find, but more of a strange thing you find out on the trails. Smiley face carved into a cut down tree, up by Tarrytown Lakes. I have an oddly clear memory of that clean, which was a good time. It’s a nice park for any locals who want to check it out. Lots of trash in weird places though. This face stands out in the camera roll and for that reason I decided to include it.
Lastly, and I am prefacing it here because I’m not sure I can upload a video on medium, is the time I found a painting last week. Nuts. Who leaves this kind of thing all around? Watch and enjoy. (Note: I will now attempt to upload the video. If there’s no video posted after this, I’ve honeydicked all of you, and I apologize.)
Whoops. You’re chalked.
