Welcome to the RGP March Wrap Up — where we wrap up the month of March as seen through the eyes of The Regrowth Project. Did our first one for February. I know you have all been anxiously waiting since. Today is the day you’ve all been waiting for.

Baltimore Aquarium

Started off the month hot with back to back to back to back cleans before misstepping on the 5th. It was a goal for the month of March to not miss a day, and I regret to inform you all that I did in fact miss a couple. Need to be better at hitting my commitments here. Hoping April is the month we actually clean every day. Above is a picture from a nighttime clean — absolute persistence here, as I actually did the cleanup after a large dinner get together. A less dedicated steward of planet Earth would have chalked the clean, but not me.

RGP

First warm day of the year we got out there to clean trash, and leave our mark. Shoutout to the (presumably) child who left this chalk behind. RGP leaves no trace except the traces we leave.

Hunter Island

Followed up some usual Baltimore cleans with a trip back to NY on a snowy, windy day to clean trash in one of the spots where it all began. This day was freezing cold. Fought through the biting wind and snow to do the job. It’s not always easy, but it’s always a pleasure. This may well be the last cold weather I experience for quite awhile.

Group Clean #1
Group Clean #2

One of the true highlights of the month was the opportunity to do a couple group cleans — cleaned up the streets of Baltimore in the picture shown above, and the parking lots and forest edges of Maple Lawn in the picture below. Between those 2 cleans, snagged about 8 shopping bags worth of trash. When you have helping hands, it’s a lot easier to do good work. We always appreciate the help from all those who support, reach out, and clean trash up on their own to further the cause. If everyone pitches in, we have a real solution to the challenges our natural environment faces. Thank you to all those who clean up with us.

A Florida Bag

And finally….some Florida bags of trash. For the foreseeable future, this is the launching point of RGP. We are now a Florida based organization. Down here, there is more diverse wildlife to protect, more plants to save, and more work to do. The beautiful weather is just an added benefit. Excited for what the future holds.

Highs

  • The 2 group cleans were pretty great. As mentioned above, I always genuinely appreciate people coming along to help out.
  • The wildlife in Florida is awesome. We’re talking Iguanas, Lizards, and all sorts of wild looking birds and plants. Makes the job that much more fun.
  • Nighttime cleans in Baltimore, as well as seeing Austin on the streets. For those who know him, he is the glue that keeps the city together.
  • The trip back to NY. Always worth taking a moment to remember your roots.

Lows

  • Missing 3 total days in the month. Absolutely embarrassing
  • Leaving Baltimore behind. Love Florida, but Baltimore needs RGP. Someone must keep the torch lit on behalf of Fed Hill
  • Leaving behind Chuck. If you know, you know.

April is the month we finally actually clean everyday. It’s been too long, but don’t let RGP get hot. Excited to bring you a heater wrap up in about 30 days time. Enjoy this picture, and bonus points if you guess where it’s from.

Guess for Bonus Points (very exciting)
